Markus Raupach has dedicated his life to beer - not only as a passion, but as a profession. Growing up in Bamberg, one of the world’s great beer cities, he was immersed in brewing culture from an early age. For over a decade, he has taught Beer Sommelier courses, helping both professionals and enthusiasts discover the depth, diversity and beauty of beer culture.
An internationally recognised beer judge, Markus has served on the judging panels of major global competitions including the World Beer Cup, World Beer Awards, Brussels Beer Challenge and European Beer Star. He is a certified Beer, Noble Spirits and Cheese Sommelier, a prolific beer writer with more than 60 published books, and a member of both the British and North American Guild of Beer Writers.
Beyond education and judging, Markus is a photographer, journalist and media professional, and holds senior roles within Germany’s beer and spirits community. He is also the only nominated WSET Beer Educator in Germany.
