Join Master of Wine Christopher Martin, who has recently returned from a research trip across the country, for an in-depth exploration of Argentina’s dynamic and diverse wine scene.

Event details

While Malbec is set to remain their signature grape, Argentina produces a range of other fantastic wines made by both new and established winemakers.

From high-altitude Cabernet Franc and elegant Pinot Noir, to the return of heritage varieties like Criolla and Semillon, Chris will guide you through a selection of classic and esoteric style from across the country – and include a couple of surprises along the way.

About the presenter, Christopher Martin MW

Chris Martin MW

Chris has over 18 years of experience in education, teaching students from primary school to graduate level. His passion for wine began during several years living in Austria and led him to pursue formal wine qualifications, completing the WSET Level 3 and Diploma by 2016.

He combined his background in education with his growing wine expertise by developing a university-level wine course, which eventually led him to join WSET’s business development team. There, he taught and supported the growth of wine education across the Asia Pacific region before becoming Head of Educator Development in 2018.

In 2024, Chris became Director of Education at the Wine Scholar Guild, where he leads a team of eight in delivering high-quality wine education focused on Italy, France, Spain, and Germany. He also judges at international wine competitions, teaches regularly, and hosts masterclasses at trade events.
