We’ll begin with a brief introduction to what sake is, before diving into the structure, content, and assessment of each WSET course.

About the speakers

Henry is a drinks consultant specialising in Japanese beverage culture. He has studied and lived in Japan, and is the European Representative of Shimizu Seizaburō Shōten – producer of the sake Zaku – where he gained first-hand brewing experience. He teaches all levels of WSET sake qualification at WSET School London.
Henry's sake journey began in 2015, when he visited Japan for the first time, and was left blown away by the sake he encountered on his travels – spurring him to undertake the WSET Level 3 Award in Sake. He has since earned the Japanese Sommelier Association's International Sake Diploma, and graduated from the JSS Sake & Shōchū Academy programme. Henry judges both wine and sake at the International Wine Challenge, and Asian spirits (principally baijiu and shōchū) with the International Spirits Challenge.
